RED, BLUE, GREEN, or YELLOW that is the question.....for what colour am I going to paint our front door? I have been thinking about this since the day we bought our house. At first I was set on a red door and a grey/green house kind of like this one... I heart this combo
This IS my dream house on the Shore
Of course once I started thinking about the endless colour options I had ....the choice became too overwhelming so I put this project on hold  for awhile but I think I have narrowed it down to 5ish... :P

I am still not to sure which one to choose because I love them all. We still have to decide which colour to paint the house ( I am thinking grey or that grey green... hubby is pushing for RED!! We will see) and then I can make the final decision for the door!
We will also be planning the back and front gardens this weekend, I will let you in on the plan on Mondays post. We are thinking raised beds, fancy paving stones and maybe this year I will get my RAIN CHAIN!

 Wishing everyone a FABULOUS weekend!

I know I promised a post this week on COMPOSTING but I am still reading up on it next week for sure.

  2. I'd been thinking dark greys for the house and a red door for our new place... THEN I saw this place the other day and the front door was an incredibly gorgeous PURPLE!!! Hmmm, I don't know if our little cul-de-sac can handle such a departure. *LOL*

  3. Brian and I want a rain chain too! They're so cool & gorgeous, hey?! Do you have a post here on Bella Lime showing the exterior of your house? Hearing you and your hubby's different views on exterior colour has me curious. Also, as you've said, you want your house and door colour to compliment one another. I love red & orange doors (my door is red w/ dark sage house & black trim - love!!), but I also love glossy black doors with red houses. :-)

    1. ohhh I totally want to paint the house a sage colour with a red door but Johnny isn't a fan :( He would like to paint the house red. OOOO he just agreed to paint the workshop a sage colour, maybe... (he should read over my shoulder more often) I have been coveting rain chains for a year now and THIS will be the year when I add a little jewellery to the house

  4. We are hoping to paint this year! I didn't make up my mind in time last year! I LOVE that second pic with the yellow door! Is that house navy, or dark grey? It's hard to tell. Do you have the source for that pic, I'd love to check out more of that house!!

  5. We are looking forward to painting the house this year but are not even close to making a decision on what colour to paint. The house in the pic is a dark grey. I used this pic last year but the link doesn't exsist anymore. What colour are you guys thinking?

  6. I love this post! And if I could paint my front door, I think I'd go with a deep navy, a cherry red, or an indigo black... so I guess it's safe to say I would head down the road of darker colours. I do love turquoise though, and could give that a whirl!

    1. OUr door right now is a navy... I think I would love it more if it was glossy instead of matte. I love love love a red door but it has to be the right RED. INDIGO Black would be very classy.
