My first INVITE!!!!!!!

August 31, 2012

Last week I attended a fabulous event hosted by the wonderful ladies at

If you haven’t been to the Passionate Home you are missing out. It is a beautiful boutique that features beautiful vintage and vintage inspired pieces, as well as gorgeous pieces for you and your home. They also offer some amazing classes as well ex. Annie Sloan Chalk Paint classes, upholstery, jewelry making ... you can find out more HERE

Upon arrival to the event I was greeted by TPH owner Carrie and a tasty glass of wine. We were invited to take a look around the store while noshing on the most delicious treats (the watermelon salad was to die for).

YUMMY- that is all

The event was to celebrate the new Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Colours and the offering of the level 2 Annie Sloan Chalk Paint workshops at the Passionate Home. I have to admit I am a newbie to using chalk paint. The first and only time I have used Annie Sloan so far was on the kitchen nook chairs that I posted about HERE. I was still on the fence about chalk paint when I arrived to the event but quickly learned that there are many techniques and finishes that you are able to achieve with chalk paint and I left there exciting to get on to my next chalk paint experience. Not to mention the colour options are BEAUTIFUL.

PRETTY PRETTY

Once everyone arrived we were given a demonstration on the different chalk paint finishes and the usage of the clear and dark waxes.

Jen from ‘Jentiques’ (I love her clever play on words),

‘How'd She DIY That’ (Stimuli Online Magazine).

Super DIY’er Deb and of course Carrie and Elinor of The Passionate home along with Sydney and The super sweet Kristine from Urban Life Media to name a few!

I also have to send a big big thank you to Kristine from Urban Life Media for letting me use her images from the event and to everyone at The Passionate Home for hosting such a lovely event!!

oh I almost forgot we also received  SWAG bags that included a paint brush, create can, the new Annie Sloan Tester pots that are available at The Passionate home as well as a Loyalty card the offers you a FREE can of Annie Sloan Paint after the purchase of your 10th can. Kick Off To Birthday Week

August 28, 2012

Wow Loves it has been quite the kick off to birthday week  Yes that's right I said "Birthday Week"! My actually birthday is well TODAY!! Happy Birthday to  ME and to all of you celebrating this week. Ever since I was probably 24 I have made sure to celebrate the entire week on which my birthday falls, I don't know how it happened but I am definitely not one to complain about it or let a tradition die.

Birthday Day Week started off with a BANG. The fam. and I headed out to "The Festive Nest's Summer Sale" what is "The Festive Nest "you ask well in one word it is MAGICAL!! but I guess I should elaborate The Festive Nest is a seasonal event hosted by the very talented Angela of La La's Land for home on her property in Surrey BC.

Now the Definition of a Festive Nest Sale is this: " a group of women who come together each season in a little (absolutely beautifully styled and filled with gorgeousness) barn to offer vintage and quality handmade items with a twist".

The end of summer sale featured the talents of Janis from RUST, Linda from Barkcloth inc, Jill from Castaways, Pretty Things and of course Angela from La La's Land for home. Everything from Capiz shelled  chimes (which I wish I took a picture of and brought home with me) to refinished furniture beauties filled the barn and surrounding area!! I was in heaven and the hubs was pretty impressed as well!

Gorgeous right? Here are my treasures from The Festive Nest

Next stop on the birthday train was mani`s and SUSHI with one of my BFF`S Miss H
The mani`s took place at Pure Nail Bar where me and Miss H were told to pick FUN sexy colours and to stop being Grandma`s by picking the `safe colours. So you guessed it we sexified our nails up with these colours from OPI `Road House Blues`and ``Lincoln Park Afterdark`` I have to admit our stylist was RIGHT!

and that was day 1

Not to shabby eh? and this is how day 2 started

and it just got better from there!!!!

Wishing everyone a FANTABULOUS Tuesday!!
XOXO

LC's Fall Collection

August 16, 2012

Guess who just came out with her FALL 2012 look book….?

That’s right Miss Lauren Conrad. I love that she uses herself as the model. It shows that her clothes look fabulous on all of us everyday beauties.
I know I may be a little old to be hearting on LC and her designs (I am going to be turning 35 in 2 weeks) but seriously that lady knows what she is doing. I recently purchased a few of her designs (2 dresses and a shirt) and a couple of her accessories (sunglasses, earrings, ring and a necklace) from Kohl’s during a shopping excursion to the states. I have to admit I instantly fell in love with everything LC.  I felt gorgeous in all of her pieces, which of course made it difficult to only purchase 3 of her designs.
Enough about me. May I  present to you  A Chic peek at Lauren Conrad’s Fall 2012 Collection for Kohl’s

LOVING all of these pieces! You can check out the rest of LC's FALL 2012 Collection for Kohl's HERE

How about you what is your favorite Lauren Conrad Design?

For those of you that don’t know too much about the ever talented LC you can check out her website HERE.  Not only is she a Reality star and a Fashion Designer but she can also add Author and DIY-er to her long list of Talents. Seriously, go check out the website I promise you will be impressed.
HAPPY THURSDAY LOVES!!!
XOXO
