PROJECT SUNDAY

November 13, 2011

I love window seats! They make any breakfast nook, bedroom,  and of course window look fabulous. You can dress them up anyway you would like and if you get bored just switch-up the pillows and cushion fabric
and KA- BAM a whole new look!

So you can only imagine how excited I was to acquire a window-seat when we moved into our house.......

Now you can see that it is a great window seat but a little blah...... I had purchased some fabric over the summer to make decorative pillows for the window but never got around to making them.

So this weekend I was inspired to spice up our seat......

Not too shabby...eh?

I even attempted my first zipper

I still need to cover the seat cushion, I am thinking a chocolate brown colour trimmed with a natural linen pipping.... I just need to find the right fabric (one that is durable and able to handle a 2 year old's sticky hands)

But for now I love that I can grab a blanket, book and a yummy beverage and snuggle into our window seat and be content on a rainy Sunday afternoon...... Of course it only happens on the odd chance that the hubby has taken our adorable monster out.

For those of you DIY-ers looking to create your own window seat here is a link to Aubrey+Lindsay's Little House Blog where they built their own Window seat CLICK HERE

Would love all and any feed back on fabric choices...

XOXO

Weekend Update

November 6, 2011

Hope everyone was able to get out and enjoy their weekend!
It was a busy one over here at CASA M. We had some friends over for dinner on Saturday night, the hubby was working so it was the lil' man of the house and I sharing the hosting duties. We had a great time

Sunday  started off with J and I making Grandma a birthday cake... we had the best time preparing everything and J loved cleaning the mixers.....sadly we didn't get to eat the cake with Grandma......... You see I should of checked with Great Grandma because she had everything already prepared as usual. All good though just means we have some YUMMY angel food cake for dessert everyday this week :)

And then we had a great visit with Auntie Claire, she stopped by to see my mom before she and my step dad head off on their annual RV Trip down to Arizona.
Then we were off to my Grandma's house for a BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

It was a wonderful weekend, There was even some bull whip practice taking place at my grandma's...you know like Indiana Jones style... That's how cool my Grandma is

XOXO
