Hello Loves!!

Time is going by so fast with pregnancy number two. I know people told me it was going to be so different: you are busy with number one and just life in general. ** to As with a first pregnancy where you can spent every moment remembering you are pregnant.

He is so Ridiculous!! Love this little man so MUCH

I remember when I was preggo with lil man and everyday was a new discovery ... lungs are developing, all his senses were being tested, what size he was this week- but this one I am only reminded when she gives my a little "what up mommy? whats going on out there? talk to me.!!"

One reason I can not forget that I am preggo is that lil man is acting a bit like a jealous sibling already.  The child that was so excited to have a baby on the way is making us start to think he's going to bit more of challenge than we thought.... is he getting jealous already or is this his way of adapting and getting ready for the big change in our family.

Lately lil J is all about Mommy- for example lil man will sneak into our room in the middle of the night with his teddy bears and stand in front of Mr.M and wake him by plainly stating "Daddy can you go to my bed, now I want to sleep with mommy". If hubby refuses or pretends to keep sleeping, it becomes a bit of a standoff as he has been able to keep this up for 30mins and then will break into sobs.  I admit that because it is easier at 3 in the morning for hubs to leave and head to lil man's room than to try and wait him out or put him back into his room (he just keeps coming back). So sadly it has been more than a month since Mr. M has had a restful sleep in his own bed... Although considering he works nights and shift work, I think secretly he doesn't mind having his own bed to catch up on some sleep.

On another occasion  I was leaving for a lunch date this  and lil man tried every move in the book to stop me from going out. Hiding my purse, blocking the door, sobbing, screaming, blocking me. It was such odd behavior because Mr M was home and usually lil J loves Daddy time. Needless to say I made my escape and thought "ok, he will calm down once he can't see me anymore and he has Daddy to himself"- boy was I wrong. 45mins into lunch I noticed I had three missed calls from Mr. M which is strange because we usually don't call one another during me time, and hubs certainly isn't one for calling me for anything unless it's urgent.  So I called him back and guess what? Lil man was still sobbing and trying to escape out the front door to go and find mommy.. not gonna lie, it was heartbreaking to see how upset he was. It must of been a tough go because Mr. M is pretty much super Dad and can handle anything. We even managed to Facetime so that he could see and talk to me, but it didn't work as he only wanted me there in person.
So long story short, I finished up my lunch date a little quicker than I was intending to and headed home. Getting home I found my lil man tuckered out and still having a little cry for mommy on daddy's shoulder....

I am sure this is not something new and lots of parents with preschoolers expecting a baby sibling must go through this... I would love any helpful hints on how to help lil J adjust to his new sibling .. right now our game plan is for Mr. M and Lil J to have lots of FUN Daddy son time and hopefully that will ease lil man into being able to not have Mommy accessible to him 100% of the time. So far the men of the family have been going out on excursions together such as errands, walks in the neighbourhood, and quiet time at home.

Thanks for letting me share LOVES!!

Sunday Funday!!

November 6, 2013

Morning Loves,

I had a fabulous post for you on Monday but yet again my Mac crashed  (something to do with a faulty hard drive)

We are (apparently) all good again and Apple has assured me that this should most likely not happen again :-/

So here is the post I had intended for Monday with a few things missing...

On  Sunday we  threw a lovely lunch for my mom's 65th birthday. We invited a few of her good friends and my fabulous Grandma to come and celebrate my mom.
Here is the menu we served to everyone

Appetizers
( I kept everything light because it was a lunch we were having)

Cream Cheese with Red Pepper Jelly on top served with rice crackers... So GOOD
Veggies served with a Hummus Dip

Lunch
Green salad with mandarin slices served with a red onion dressing
Crab and Cream Cheese Quiche

Dessert

BIRTHDAY CAKE - Angel food cake

Not one to toot my own horn but seriously TOOT TOOT!!

I created this Photo Back Drop for a photo session for my mom and her friends ......

It was so easy all you need is string,  a stapler and crepe paper rolls. I made the Celebrate sign in the summer for my nieces birthday and it worked perfectly with the back drop. I think I have a thing for turquoise, fuchsia, and lime green right now.

Here are some pics of my presents to my mom and the table setting... Yes everything is Matchy Matchy.... That's how I roll sometimes.
Check out this Pom Pom Present topper I made from crepe paper and ribbon you can make them too. You can learn how at Oh Happy Day click  HERE

Anyhoo the photo shoot was amazing, we were able to get everyone in party hats and every shot turned out  fabulously!

Now here comes the heartbreaking part... I lost all the photos when my Mac crashed.... for some reason my photo stream/iCloud only copied the first half of the party but not the photo shoot and of course I for some reason deleted the photos from my photo card once I downloaded them to my computer..... I am trying to not be super bummed about this whole thing...

The positive outlook on this is that I am GRATEFUL  that we were able to throw  my mom a party with her friends and family and that everyone had a wonderful time filled with lots of love and laughs... oh and of course the Delicious food!!

Here are some photos that did survive the "Crash"

Happy Hump Day Loves!!

Happy Friday Loves!!!

I hope everyone had a SPOOKTACULAR Halloween!! I can't believe it's November and that the weather around here is perfect for this preggo mamma: Sunny AND Cold!
Love it !
Even when I am not pregnant I love this weather, and the clothes that go with it.

Honestly, I would be happy to live in this weather all year round, I think it is the most stylish season- sweaters, skinny jeans/tights and boots, and let's not forget the piece de resistance.. a scarf which I believe completes any outfit!!

So imagine my joy once I figured out I could post my Polyvore ensembles to BLOGGER!!!!! I am so excited to share with all of you my collections!! They make it so easy!

Here is the Cozy Casual outfit I would love to wear this weekend:

A classic striped sweater paired with jeans and a fabulous pair of Frye boots accompanied by a gold cuff and classic knot earrings. I am in love, not to mention I think this look would look pretty cute on a little baby bump! What do you think Loves?

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

October 31, 2013

Happy Halloween Loves!!!

I have to say I am so excited for this Halloween, this is lil J's second Halloween Trick o Treating!!
We have been practicing his knock and execution of "TRICK or TREAT" He has it down to an art form now. :)

I really had big plans for his costume this year…. I  really, really wanted to be THAT mom - you know the one… THAT MOM  you envy because she is such a ROCKSTAR that makes the AWESOME homemade costumes…..

So a few months back when I was feeling super ambitious (it must of been the hormones) I promised lil J I would make this

Totally AWESOME, right?
Click HERE to get the instructions on the How To

But I totally dropped the ball on that one….but there is still hope for me, I figure I have at least 7 more Halloweens to become "THAT MOM"

Since Monday I have made a new promise:  that I would make this costume for him …for next year,
I should probably start now. ..

So instead of being the ever FABULOUS Super Hero BATMAN Lil J is going to venture out as

A SUPER AWESOME FIRE CHIEF
(thank you Aunty Kate and Uncle Alex for the best Christmas Gift)

He is still pretty cute as a Fire Chief!!

Wishing Everyone a Safe and SPOOKY Halloween and to "THOSE MOMS" I am in awe and look forward to joining your CLUB!!

Hanging at the Pumpkin Patch

October 28, 2013

Hello Lovelies

My computer is finally FIXED!!!!

Yes my MAC Air succumbed to that dreaded WHITE SCREEN of Death. After trying some at home remedies with no luck I finally broke down and went to the Apple store and guess what.... after a few minutes of searching my computer they were able to  fix it and the best part was they did it for FREE.

Sadly though I lost all my photos ...... lesson learned I must back everything up.

Now firstly I would like to wish all my fellow CANADIANS  a Happy Thanksgiving,

I know it's a little late.

We have been keeping busy around here enjoying the beautiful fall weather and organizing the house for baby's arrival.

We visited Laity Pumpkin Patch this past week with little man's pre school class.

If you haven't been out to Laity it is a great place to visit. They have farm animals, a corn maze,  vegetable garden, an enchanted forest and  tractor rides! Not to mention some FABULOUS pumpkins! You can check out their website HERE

 Checking out the Farm Animals

Having fun with the wooden animals

ARRHHHHGGGG!!! Loving the enchanted forest

Finishing the corn maze all by himself...

Picking his pumpkin to bring home... we had to put this one back Lil man felt it was too heavy

If you are in the Maple Ridge area I highly recommend visiting Laity Pumpkin Patch it is a great way to spend an Autumn day.
Happy Monday!

Photo Jam

September 19, 2013

Good Morning Loves!!

Here is what I have been up to the last couple of days:

I made these sweet little thank you cards for my Birthday attendees, I have to say it is pretty amazing what a little scrap paper and stamps can accomplish!

The Hubby hung baby Girls Teacup chandelier... which was from the fabulous Dawna from Aroka Vintage ......and then after he hung the fixture I found the ceiling medallion that we had kicking around.... I am hoping he will re hang the fixture with the medallion next week. I mean "How GORGEOUS would this fixture look with a little Ohh la la added to it"?

Lil man and Hubby put together the Ikea Gulliver Crib, I found on Craigslist for a steal! I love this crib's simplicity and clean lines. It's funny I really loved the espresso colour of lil J's crib but once we found out it was a girl that we were having...(although I know ultra sounds can be wrong) I really wanted a white crib. I have to say I am  happy with this crib and LUCKY to have a hubby that agreed to us getting another crib.

Oh and I painted this dresser........ I know what you are thinking "THIS GIRL IS AMAZING" :)
I still have to find some knobs / handles for the drawers

Oh and today I had to have the lovely Gestational Diabetes screening test done.... seriously how gross is that sugar water concoction by the last 3 sips I thought I was going to hurl (sorry for the over share but that stuff is GROSS)

After the test though I was able to hang out in Starbucks and have a little me time!

Oh I also found a few more blogs to HEART ON

If you are looking for some fun reads and visually inspiring posts be sure to  check out these ladies BLOGS!!

SEPTEMBER is HERE??!

September 12, 2013

I know everyone says this but "How is it September already?"

We had a wonderful August here at Casa M. We spent it hanging out with Friends and Family and enjoying all the different playgrounds and water parks near us. I have to say it was a FABULOUS summer.

We also found out that we are having a BABY GIRL in December!!! I know so crazy right?
Lil man is going to have a baby sister!

When the ultrasound Tech told us it was a "SHE" lil J stated that the tech was wrong and that it was a little boy mommy was having... its been a month since that appointment and he has come around to the idea of a lil sis finally.

Just this week I have started nesting and wanting to get the house organized... Mr. M has been wonderful and obliging to all my demands suggestions I have been giving him this week.

I have to admit I have been a little hesitant about getting excited about baby number 2, I know this is normal and I will love this baby just as much as Lil J but it is so crazy to me to think that he will not be my baby anymore. I read THIS blog post by "What Would Gwyneth Do?" about second child syndrome and it reassured me that everything is going to be good.

Also Lil J started his 2nd year of  preschool this week... He was so excited he didn't even want to leave the class at the end.

I on the other hand  am a little sad because all my playground Mama's have either moved or have their kids in the M/W/F class.... I guess this Mama is going to have to make new friends .
I know I know poor me right?

Oh and I also had a little Bday dinner this past weekend ... We had Indian cuisine for dinner it was DELISH!!!!

look at all my pretty ladies!!

Also we threw my niece an early Birthday Party  (they live in Halifax) and I made my first Pink Lemonade Ice Box Cake for her and this Celebrate Sign!

I found the recipe for this Pretty and Pink Cake on the Blog "Club Narwhal" check out the how to HERE.
It is the cutest video

Looking forward to sharing the nursery progress next week and I may even post about my September Goals... I should post about them that way some of them might get done.

Oh and one last note for my summer reading list I have managed to read: Mindy Kaling's Is everyone hanging out without me? (LOVED IT) and right now I am engrossed with "Girls in White Dresses" by Jennifer Close.
Oh and the only hairstyle I managed to accomplish was the braided crown...

I will keep you posted on the other "DO's" and "Books".

Happy Thursday Loves!!

A bunch of How To's

July 29, 2013

Hello Loves,

Hope everyone had a FABULOUS weekend.

Over the weekend and for the last few weeks I have been at a loss for what to do with my mess of hair.... it is in need of a chop STYLE.  Now that it is long I find that it just looks like a big frizzy mess...but I don't have any time or extra moola right now to make a visit to my absolutely amazing stylist YUKO. So instead  I hit up my blog list and Pinterest to find some long hair inspiration and EASY how to styles.

This is what I found ENJOY!!

1.  The Braided Crown- I actually tried this one this weekend and really liked the look of it. I think it would look so cute paired with a floral cotton Maxi dress.  Check out the How to Tutorial HERE

2. The Waterfall Braid- I have been wanting to covet this look forever. I love how whimsical this style is and so perfect for a summer party/Wedding. This style I would like to try accomplishing just once. Learn How to HERE

 3. The Perfect Beach Waves.. I would love to achieve this style on purpose not the 1 in every 100 days that I try. SO I found a tutorial to help me out you can find it HERE

4.  The Top Knot. I know this one looks somewhat so simple but I can never make my top knot look super cute and natural. It always looks so severe. So I am hoping that this How to will show my the way. Check it out HERE

And there you have it my Summer Hair Styles to accomplish by September!

Happy Monday!!!

XOXO

Summer Reading

July 24, 2013

Happy Wednesday LOVES,

There is something about Summer that makes me want to read... I think it is all that time in High School and my 20s when all my GF's and I would hit the beach and work on our tans while reading books and gossiping.  I would finish books in 2 days well the good ones anyways.

VIA

Now that I am a mommy the summers have been filled with water parks, playdates, and road trips but somehow this summer I have been able to fit time in to start reading again and I am loving it!!!! So to honour this Summer season here is my Summer Reading List for 2013!!

1

I LOVE The MIndy Project and it's star Miss Mindy Kaling!  So imagine my excitement when she wrote a book sharing a glimpse into her life. I can't wait to read this one.

2.

The 3rd instalment to Lauren Conrad's series "The Fame Game" Follows a group of 20 somethings and their lives staring in a reality show.  This one is on my birthday list. I am really impressed with LC's writing.

This one sounds like my life in 2006 and I can't wait to read it
Girls in White Dresses tells the story of three women grappling with heartbreak and career change, family pressure and new love-all while suffering through an endless round of weddings and bridal showers.

4

This book and it's sassy author have been getting so much press that I just HAVE to read it to see what all the HOOPLA is about.  I love this lady's tweets and if this book is anything like them I feel this book is going to be HILARIOUS and will speak the truth.

5

Chapters Indigo states:
Then Came You is a hilarious, tender, and timely tale that explores themes of class and entitlement, surrogacy and charity, the rights of a parent and the measure of a mother.

I remember my first Jennifer Weiner Novel...it was "Little Earthquakes" I couldn't put that book down. It made me cry, laugh at loud and even angry at some points. It was amazing how she was able to connect with me through her words.  SO OF COURSE I had to have
a Jennifer Weiner book on the to read list for this Summer!!

6

My Summer List would not be complete without a Design book... I love the blog Young House Love... If you haven't checked it out you must! Sherry and John Petersik are Amazing at turning a house into a beautiful HOME.

Looking forward to my summer reading list and hope some of you will be adding this titles to your list too. I would love to hear your suggestions for Summer Reading the more books the better.

XOXO
